Who is ITW?
- Into the Wilderness (ITW) is a Christian outdoor leadership education and wilderness adventure ministry based in Turin, Italy.
- Founded in 2009, ITW seeks to dispel the myth that following Jesus is boring through outdoor adventure and experiential learning!
- Our programming activities include camping, rafting, canyoning, fishing, trekking, rock climbing, backpacking, mountaineering, back country cooking, alpine and back country living, orienteering, and community building.
- ITW adventures occur in the heart of the Italian Alps in the regions of Piemonte and Val d’Aosta, near MonViso, Massif and Gran Paradiso National Park.

What are we passionate about?

Choose your adventure from among reBOOT, reNEW and reCALL and transform your vacation into an unforgettable experience of emotion, fun and spiritual growth.”

What do we do?
- We offer 6 different adventures, each designed with specific areas of spiritual growth in mind.
- The 7 day reBOOT adventure is designed for the ordinary person, who has little to no camping experience, can enjoy the beauty and the excitement of various outdoor adventures during the day and return to relax in a peaceful campground with full amenities and eat delicious, healthy italian meals.
- The 7 day reNEW adventure is designed to help introduce people to the joy of backcountry living as we backpack from site to site, learn how to camp responsibly in the wilderness, cook and navigate in the wild and respond to divine encounters while surrounded by breathtaking panoramas.
- If you are not sure about the full 7 day reNEW adventure, we offer a 4 day reNEW Lite adventure. Instead of tent camping, we stay in bivouacs and refuges to lighten the load and maximize the time enjoying, learning and being transformed through God’s creation, His Word and one another.
- The 7 day reCALL adventure is designed to help people seek God and His calling through extended time in solitude and fasting, followed by time for reflection as a community. Each participant carries minimal gear and rationed food in backpacks, and is trained in necessary and essential outdoor survival skills.
- If you are not sure about the full 7 day reCALL adventure, we also offer a 4 day reCALL Lite adventure. During the “lite” version we simply shorten number of days and lighten the load while still allowing for sufficient time to enjoy, learn and be transformed through God’s creation, His Word and one another (although we still recommend the full 7 day adventure to experience a fuller and even deeper intimacy with God.)
- The 4 day reTRAIN adventure is designed to train future ITW guides. We aim to equip their hearts through character formation, their heads through theological and practical teachings and their hands with the necessary skills to wisely lead others in the outdoors.
